Group dog training classes including good manners, impulse control, recall, and loose-lead walking
These courses are for young dogs over four months old.
Location: Indoor training facility at 120 Robert Street, Whangarei or an outdoor location in the Whangarei area. All dogs entering the training facility must be up to date with vaccinations.
Good Manners
Duration: 5 weeks (1 orientation without dog, 4 practical sessions with dog)

Fridays 1 February - 1 March 2019 6:00 - 7:00 pm (fully booked, register your interest in the next courses obligation-free)
Saturdays 2 February 2019 - 2 March 2019 1:00 - 2:00 pm - Puppy life skills specifically tailored to puppies between the ages of 13 - 18 weeks - puppies who are a little too old for puppy class and too young for the more formal Good Manners course. Learn how to teach your puppy important life skills such as focus, engagement, and impulse control, and tackle common puppy behaviours. Force free methods.

Wouldn’t it be nice if your dog walked on the lead without pulling, sat for a pat from visitors instead of jumping up, and behaved well around food, other people, and dogs?
This course is a great for all young dogs. If you’ve been to my puppy class, you’re puppy has already started to learn basic good manners and how to be polite and social. But to get your dog comfortable in all kinds of situations, you need to practice in many different environments and with increasing distractions. In this class, we will work on:
Sit, Down, Wait
Loose-lead walking, including walking past other dogs
Come when called
Accepting friendly strangers / greeting people politely
How to leave things alone when asked
Impulse control
Focus
Food manners
Not suitable for dogs highly reactive to other dogs or humans.

Solid Sit
Duration: 1 session

Is your dog a social butterfly and jumps up on everybody she meets? Or maybe you have an enthusiastic door dasher? Does your dog need to learn that ‘sit’ means ‘sit’ no matter what distractions are about? This one-session course centers around building a solid 'Sit' for building your dog’s impulse control.

Does your dog have selective hearing when you call her or does she simply ‘forget’ to come when she’s occupied? If you sometimes feel worried that your dog won’t come when you really need him to, this class is for you.

It can be frustrating to feel like your dog is taking you for a walk instead of the other way around. This class gives you the tools you need to take calm, safe, and “easy on the arms” walks with your dog.
